Be Prepared for the Switch to SNOMED with Thornfields

Monday 28th Aug 2017 - Thornfields

By now you should be aware that SNOMED CT will become the standard clinical terminology system used in general practice from April next year. The name will certainly ring a bell, even if you’re not 100% up to speed with the full details of what the switch will mean.

SNOMED CT has been present in NHS policy and strategy documents for more than 15 years but, after more than a decade of planning, the transition date of April 2018 will soon be here. With that in mind, Thornfields have been hard at work on a SNOMED training workshop to help practices prepare – and get staff up to speed too.

The last release of CTV3 Read codes is scheduled for April 2018, coinciding with the planned implementation of SNOMED CT. To help you be as prepared as possible, award-winning primary care training providers Thornfields will be delivering SNOMED Workshops from September this year.

The workshop will give delegates a clear understanding of both the transformational and transactional elements of this change. It has been designed to provide a strategic overview of why the change is happening and give an operational understanding of how to meet the deadline for GP practices to transition to SNOMED CT before 1st April 2018.

Delegates will develop a clear action plan so they understand what this means for their practices, what is likely to happen automatically and what they are likely to need to do for themselves. The workshop has been designed to equip delegatew with the knowledge and confidence to meet the switch to SNOMED head on.

Don’t let the switch to SNOMED throw you off balance - be prepared, confident and clear on what the change will mean for you and your practice by signing up for Thornfields’ SNOMED Workshop. Get in touch today to learn more!
