Coding Workshop Pic 1920X1281

Workshop Objectives

This half-day workshop, delivered on MS Teams, will provide an understanding of the background and context of SNOMED CT. It will re-enforce awareness that accurate clinical coding is central to General Practice provision of safe, high-quality patient care. It is also a key component in successful financial performance.

The workshop aims to increase the skills and build confidence of first-time coders as well as help to eliminate the most common coding errors across the various clinical systems. Users will gain valuable background knowledge, and a clear understanding of the rationale behind current coding languages.

There will be time during the session for personal reflection, peer-to-peer learning, as well as personal action planning. This session equates with one Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credit.

Delegates are required to bring to the session a copy of their own organisation’s Clinical Coding Protocol and to have familiarised themselves with this beforehand. This will then enable learnings to be viewed in the context of that policy and its application in the workplace.
